Today Eli fell while trying to walk from one chair to the next at the dining table. The end result was 3 stitches above his left eye. Of course it happened on my watch. I was warming up some goldfish soup (one of Eli's favorites) and BAM I saw the end result. Him on the floor. He instantly grabbed his eye and cried. I didn't think anything of it until I saw the injury. It was a pretty big gash. So we called Matt (he was at Menard's) and put a Sponge Bob band-aid on it. He was smiling and watching cartoons when Matt got home. We lifted one end of the band-aid and Matt said, "Let's go see a doctor". Eli didn't want to go. In fact he hid under the dining table. After lots of convincing we changed his clothes and got him to the doctor. Upon checking in at the ER the registration guy saw Eli's Sponge Bob band-aid and came in later with a stuffed Sponge Bob! Eli thought it was AWESOME! We were fine until the nurse started the stitches. They had to add more numbing meds and then the 3 stitches finally made it into his skin. It took 4 of us to hold him down. I was next to him and was about 5 inches away from every stitch. It was not very pleasant. Needless to say we will not be standing up on the chairs anymore.
