Wyatt's First Day at School

Monday: Monday I went back to work and Wyatt went to the sitter. I did pretty good if I do say so myself. I did get teary when we were loading into the van. I apologized to Eli and explained to him that Mommy was sad b/c she had to go back to work. He comment was, "Well you shouldn't have had a baby then". Nothing like telling Mom to buck up huh? I got to the sitters and she was waiting at the door for us. I thought about him all day. Finally when 4:30 rolled around I had to call Matt b/c he had not called me as he was instructed to do with all the details. Luckily the sitter did a nice diary of his day...including feedings, naps, wet and bm diapers. It was exactly what I wanted to know. One a more somber note I got SWAMPED at work...which is good I guess b/c the day flies by and I don't have time to eat snacks like I did at home.

TUESDAY: Dropped off Wyatt with no troubles. Eli had Alternative Kindergarten round-up today. Since he is an August birthday we decided not to send him to Kindergarten but enroll him in the pre-kindergarten for young kids. He was a little nervous at first and refused to sit on the color carpet. Then I was the proudest momma there he broke out of his shy bubble and even answered Mrs. Schulte's (his new teacher) question in front of the whole group of parents and kids. They then continued with coloring pictures and playing with toys while the parents watched a video about what a typical day would be like. We finished with pictures, vision testing, a visit with Calypso the building dog and a tour of a school bus.

We will see what Wednesday brings us.

P.S. We weighed Wyatt he is up to 12.5 lbs now! Wearing some 6 month clothes from Eli when he was a baby. Yikes!
