Big Brother Class

............................................................................................................................................................................................. Today Eli and I attended Siblings Class at Mercy Hospital. Eli was a little scared to start the class off but once he warmed up with some milk and a chocolate chip cookie he was raring to go. The class consisted of about 12 boys and girls that are going to be big brothers or sisters. We started off with a Seasame Street movie with Mommy Bear, Papa Bear and Baby Bear. Then the group split up, 1/2 the kids went to tour the nursery and delivery area and the other 1/2 drew on onsies. When it was our turn to go to the nursery Eli was the leader of the line. We saw baby Owen (all 9 lbs of him!). They showed the kids his feet, his hands and he even cried. Eli's comment was, "He's so cute". Then we went to see where Mommy will stay for a couple days. They showed them to wash their hands and not to move the babies bed. There was a spot for DVDs and a phone to call Mom if you miss her. We went back to the room and made hand prints and pictures for the babies bed. We even diapered our stuffed animals we brought. It was a great class, after 5 minutes of warm up time and a cookie Eli LOVED Siblings class. Now he just wants his big brother or sister to hurry up. 6 weeks to go! But remember our Eli came two weeks early when he was born.
