My best friend is Ty. My second best friend is Brayden because they are like my brothers. My teacher is very nice, her name is Mrs. Mehmen. My worst best friend is Keegan. He is not very nice. My carpet spots were purple, blue and green. My table spot colors were red, orange, yellow and blue. The table I had been at the most was the yellow and orange table.

My favorite center in Kindergarten was blocks. My favorite thing to eat at snack time is fruit snacks, birthday treats and donuts.

My favorite jokes at school are April Fool's joke and other jokes. My favorite joke is I have a hundred dollars in my backpack right now. Would you be quit already, I am trying concentrate and learn.

Sometimes my table wins a lot of table points.

The Day I went to the park

The day I went to the park, I went down the same slide a lot. I also liked the fish. I also like the monkey bars under the fish. At the park I swung in the baby swing at Ellis Park. Kaden also went to the park with me sometimes.

T-ball 2011

Well, I convinced Matt to be the coach of Eli's t-ball team. Last night was our first practice. Eli, Wyatt and I first headed over to soccer for an hour while Matt and Dwayne coached the t-ball team. It was a crazy night with both sports going at once. Needless to say the kids were freezing by the end of the night. Eli did great at soccer. He enjoys being the goalie. I hope to get him more aggressive at the next game.

Matt did excellent coaching the team. We were thrown a curve ball when a parent told us their child was autistic. Turns out he was our best hitter and fielder. He's such a sweetie. We hope the weather cooperates with our next few practices...soccer and t-ball.

Tonight when trying to get Wyatt to go to bed we were talking about how the girls in his daycare class (9 girls 2 boys) come running when he arrives. They all say, "W-Y-A-T-T!!!" It is the cutest thing ever. Tomorrow when they come running, I suggested that Wyatt respond back to them by saying, "HELLO LADIES". We practiced many times before finally nestling in for some much needed sleep. Wish us luck.

Wyatt loved being sang to on Wednesday. He even said, "Happy Birthday to me!"

It's so hard to believe that two years ago Wyatt joined our family. He has been such a blessing for us. It's been a tough week for W. He has been moved to the big 2 year old room at daycare. The new room, new people and new teachers is tough on a little guy. Tears fill his eyes before we even get to the door. Each day gets easier and Daddy's cupcakes helped him make lots of friends on Wednesday. We hope to celebrate the big 2 with family this weekend but mother nature may change some plans. Guess only time will tell.
Wyatt got a Mario backpack from us. But who got to cuddle with Mario that night? Yep, Eli swiped him. Bargain bin tent and tunnel - love 80% off sales. :)

February should be changed to "Virusday" because it seems like there are lots of sick kids out there. Wyatt joined the club this week, he's had the fever of 101, runny nose and nasty cough. Of course he was initiated into the club while Matt was gone on his great boar hunt in Texas. Thanks to text messaging I've been keeping him posted on the challenges I've been faced with. Finally after a trip to the doctor yesterday Wyatt was diagnosed with...a virus. Just wait it out they said. So, here we are sitting around getting coughed on, snotted on and kissed. Anyone want to guess who goes down next?

On the Texas hunting side. Apparently Matt shot a boar yesterday but they could not find it after 3 hours of searching. He is pretty bummed about it. I even cleaned out the freezer for his prize piggy - maybe next year?

Fun story from tonight. The boys were all eating their sherbet ice cream and Matt says, "Wow, this ice cream smells". Eli follows suit and smells it only to find his nose smashed into the ice cream. We all laughed. Watch out he might try this trick on you.

Man Cave Nearing Completion

Matt and crew have been busy at work trying to get the basement done. As you can see we got carpet today. It looks so fabulous! Cozy comfy was the plan and I think we achieved it. Matt and Mollie relax in this photo.

The Ebel clan just doesn't get all dressed up for anyone. This momentous occasion was Sam and Melissa's wedding. Eli was the first to find his shirt and tie then the rest of followed suit. As you can see we were quite spiffy if I do say so myself. I hope to visit Milwaukee again just maybe when the weather is warmer. Kenzie, Eli and Katie pose for a photo in the lobby of our hotel. (Please note that is appears as if Kenzie only has one leg but I am here to say that she does indeed have two of them). :)
Say cheese - Wyatt had little sleep that day but hung in there until 10 pm. I also need to note that this was Wyatt's first night sleeping in a big boy bed with Mom. It actually wasn't that bad once he got all his cuddles out of him. Matt on the other hand woke up to a foot in his face thanks to Eli.
The godparent's of the bride say cheese before heading to the wedding. Now you would think that I would have took a photo of the bride and groom but apparently I was too busy chasing after the boys to get that accomplished. (sorry guys)

Boo! Halloween 2010

We had a great Halloween weekend. The kids and I went down to the local library for the annual Halloween party. We enjoyed a book, costume parade, crafts and goodies to eat. We were most surprised when Clifford the dog visited us. Sunday we were VERY excited to go trick-or-treating. Wyatt wore the hand me down lion costume that Eli refused to wear at his age and Eli was a mighty knight. We made it around the neighborhood and down to the fire station for glow in the dark necklaces. Our sugar rush is over and now it is time for BED! I am exhausted.

Boy October has been a whirlwind. We have been progressing quite well with the basement this month. Matt has worked many hours staining the woodwork and it shows. The boys and I have been entertaining ourselves with trips to playgrounds, shopping and the pumpkin farm. We hope to get the basement done by December for all to enjoy. Labor Day 2010 (sorry it took me so long to get these posted)

It has been a crazy September already and it only is the 12th...or is it the 13th? Shoot I can't keep up anymore. I finally uploaded my pictures from Labor Day Weekend up at Camp Schendel. We had a great time celebrating family and we squeezed in Eli's 6th birthday party. Together Dawn and Sherrie made the Toy Story 3 party one that will last go down in the history books for Eli. See pictures below.

My contribution to the big weekend was a modified kid version of Minute to Win it! The kids had a blast and everyone was a winner. Check out "Chocolate Unicorn" (stack 4 cookies on your forehead in one minute). We played about 5 or six games ranging from Junk in the Trunk to Mix 'N Match. Lots of laughs and giggles for everyone.

Whew, as you can see we had a great time. Sunday I got hit with the stomach bug and the party quickly ended. Ugh! After about 4-5 days I finally felt back to "normal'. I had to get better b/c we had great tickets to the Iowa vs. Iowa State game this weekend. Leaving the house at 9 am seemed a bit crazy for a 2:30 pm game but apparently you "have" to tailgate at these things. Who knew? We rode the Hawkeye Express into the game, hit the Modern tailgate, visited some co-workers, ran into long lost friends and then back to Modern...believe it or not our 5+ hours of tailgating was fun filled. Once the game started the energy in the stadium was amazing. It might have been the fact that we were in row 29! Sweet tickets! After 11 hours of Hawkeye fever we crashed. It was a great date with my hubby. Maybe we could do this again in January???

Now the only reason we were able to visit the game was because we have two amazing Grandma/Mammie's. Grandma took the first shift entertaining/feeding/supervising the kids/dog. Mammie came in for the 2nd shift so we could grab a bite to eat. Our parents are the best and we don't say thank you enough - so "thank you, we love you and appreciate all you do for our family". Happy Grandparent's Day!

One final thought of the night...Mollie, our dog has been diagnosed with seasonal allergies. Seriously? I thought all the scratching at night was a vibrating bed - - guess not.

1st Day of School & 6th Birthday!

Thursday was the big day. Eli went to Kindergarten and celebrated his 6th birthday all in one day. We were doing great in the morning everyone was on time. We dropped Wyatt off first so Eli could use the restroom quick at school. Then we took him down to the cafeteria (that's where the Before and After School program meets). He was a little apprehensive but there was no crying and no clinging to my leg. I said my good-byes and quickly exited. It was the smoothest transition to a new classroom ever. He's getting to be such a big boy. Enjoy the pictures we took.

Staycation

We have had a busy week during our staycation. I highly recommend the staycation if necessary. We found a lot of fun entertainment right here in the Corridor. Enjoy the pictures I attempted to document our adventures.

Day 1 - RAIN (Boo!) Mall Park and $1 bowling

The boys loved jumping all over the germ invested equipment at Lindale Mall. Wyatt made a new friend and Eli learned how to jump from the top of the shoe all the way to the apple. It was pouring outside so this was a way to burn off some energy.
Wyatt enjoyed bowling - even if he just got to watch. He found a ball so he rolled it around and it doubled as a chair at times (until he fell backwards and hit his head on the chairs). Eli did awesome he only needed the bumpers a couple times. He rolled an 89 and a 7-something the second game. Great job E! Who knows we may sign him up for league this fall.
Check out Matt's bowling shoes? They don't have these fancy shoes in V-town. Super cool!

Day 2 - Beaver Park, splash pad
We got to Beaver Park early on Tuesday b/c the weather was supposed to be HOTT! 100+ We had to wait for the zoo to open so we hit the playground for awhile. Wyatt was all smiles, as usual.

This is a common expression in our household. Eli is always hugging, squeezing and moving Wyatt around. One of these days Wyatt is going to get him back for all this. Here the boys pose on the pig with chipped ears.

Wyatt really enjoyed the duck area at Beaver park (wait we didn't see any Beavers???). You can't see the ducks but there are tons of them right below the boys.

Day 3 - Children's Museum, park then swimming

I was sad on this day b/c my camera died while at the fun filled Children's Museum. I did manage to get two pictures. This is one of them. After the museum we headed to the park to eat/play. With temperatures in the 100 plus we choose to hit the pool. The boys are doing great at swimming. Eli is getting more and more confident with the water every trip we take to the pool. I see a season pass for Summer 2011.

Day 4 - Lake McBride swimming and out to eat at the home of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - aka Leonardo's.

We met up with Wyatt's first babysitter Lani on Thursday at Lake McBride. The boys loved the beach and loved reuniting with the Vega family and friends. I on the other hand did decide that I enjoy swimming in water that does not include dead fish floating by - YUCK! Oh well it was cool, refreshing and did I mention free? We will hit the beach again soon.

Day 5 - We were supposed to go to Tucker Park on Friday. With the rain hampering our plans once again. We decided to clean the neglected house. Well we ended up rearranging the livingroom furniture. The boys enjoying finding long lost toys under the chairs/couches and their prize was sleeping on the hide-a-bed that night. (Well not W but Eli got to)

Phew! I am exhausted but I have more to share...tomorrow.

Guess who got a hair cut?

Well Wyatt's 1st hair cut was a lot like Eli's almost 5 years ago. He cried. Even with a sucker in his hand, his best girl holding his hand - he cried. By the end of the cut a handsome young man evolved and my baby boy grew up instantly. Here are few photos that Grandma captured during all the chaos. Enjoy!

Adventureland 2010

We finally took Eli to Adventureland for the first time. Not sure why we have not done this before. It is only 2 hours from the house and only about five minutes from my brothers house. This year we were treated by Grandpa and Grandma with tickets for the whole family to go at the same time. The weekend started out wet but as the day went on the weather was picture perfect. (PUN) We hit the Ferris wheel first and after ride after ride Eli was loving it. Wyatt even got in on a few rides such as the infant ocean and driving the semi trucks. Eli REALLY wanted to ride the Tornado (the best wooden roller coaster in Iowa! - okay maybe the only one). At the bottom of the big hill they take your photo, as you can see we HAD to get the picture. Notice how white Eli's knuckles are. We also had just rode the Log Ride that's why Matt's shirt is so wet (he got drenched!) Good times were had by all - thanks for the memories Mom and Dad we will have to do it again next year.

Birthday Plans

It is hard to imagine that my little Eli will be 6 this summer and going to Kindergarten! It seems like just yesterday we were bringing him home from the hospital. I wanted to let all the family know what our plans are this year for his b-day as they are slightly different than past years. It seems like August is crazy busy for a lot of people so we are going to celebrate Eli on the following dates/times.

I'm not much of a football fan but we did have a good time walking through the Packers stadium. I think it's called Lambeau field? Anyway, enjoy the pictures we snapped while going through the gift shop and attempting to view the field. We decided the 1 hour tour @ $11 an adult wasn't worth it since we had another 5 hours left to get home.

Progress in the basement

The guys have been busy in the basement this past month. With lots of help from Dwayne, Buzz and Brad. As of this very moment we have the walls all framed in, drywalled, taped and mud, textured and primed. I hope this weekend to take back my laundry room as it has been covered in plastic for a week or two. I went carpet and tile shopping and found something that Matt and both love. Now we just need to win the lottery. Thanks to all that have helped the E family is going to LOVE the basement when it is finished.

Soccer Star!

We've started the full swing of Spring here. Soccer on Monday's, T-ball on Monday's and Wednesday's. How will we do it with two kiddos in a few years? Wyatt already likes soccer as you can see. It is pretty difficult to keep him off the field. I'll post the t-ball schedule when I get a few spare seconds.

Round'em up

Eli had Kindergarten Round-up today. This was almost like round two for us since we did AK Round-up last spring. Man - what a difference a year makes. There was no separation anxiety or refusal to participate. Eli was such a good boy - he is ready for Kindergarten if not beyond ready. He is growing up so fast before we know it we will be planning his graduation party.

Tonight the guys were working on the basement again (HUGE THANKS TO BUZZ and DWAYNE) they are getting closer to getting the drywall work done. Eli and opted to practice riding his bike tonight. He did AWESOME! We were just on the grass in case we took a spill but he really figured out the balance thing - next we need to work on pedaling.

2010 Barnyard Days

The boys and I headed to Mount Vernon to HB Barnyard days. Who knew that this barn had a camel and a zebra! In addition to some baby chicks, goats, lambs and more. Wyatt was a little leery of hte Penny Bears and always kept his eyes on them. Enjoy the photos.

Eli: Mommy, today I accidentally pulled the fire alarm.

Carrie: What! (in a high pitch tone)

Eli: I accidentally pull the alarm, but the fireman didn't come. (Tears welling up in his eyelids)

Carrie: How did you pull the alarm?

Eli: I was walking down the hallway to the playground and I rubbing my hand on the wall and my fingers got stuck in the alarm and pulled it down.

Carrie: Eli, your father is not going to like this.

Eli: But it was an accident.

One hour later....I told Matt the story and he laughed and said, "I didn't even do that when I was a kid." Guess Eli is not in trouble.

Rock and Mineral Show 2010

We exposed the kiddos to some science today by visiting the Rock and Mineral Show. They had multiple booths selling rocks, fossils, etc. But the highlight was getting to see the T-Rex skull and 33 foot dino (I have no idea what it was called but it was big!). Notice that Wyatt can not hold his own neck these days...good thing his brother can hold it for him. Goof ball!

We ventured to Portrait Innovations this morning at 9 am for a photo shoot for Wyatt's 1st birthday pictures. As you can see his good looks and smiles made us broke again. Maybe it is a good thing I didn't get 6 mo or 9 mo. pictures taken. He's too cute!

Papa Retired Today!

45 years...it's a long time when you think about it. That is how long Dwayne has been plumbing and now he is officially retired. Tonight we attended the retirement party that was hosted by his co-workers and below I have posted some photos from the evening. It was a great party and you can tell that everyone is going to miss Dwayne and his 45 years of experience.

So what will retirement bring for Dwayne? And Sherrie? Well maybe a trip to Arizona to see the Cubs (Go Cubs Go, Go Cubs Go) play some pre-season games. Sounds like an great way to kick off their new adventures as a retired household.

Wyatt took cupcakes to school for his birthday on Tuesday. I baked and Matt frosted. He did a stellar job. Wyatt thinks so too. Can't believe W is getting so big. We had our 1 year check up. He is 95 percent for head size (this explains why hats don't fit), 91 percent for height and 81 percent for weight. He's basically like a 1.5 year old - - and remember he was 4 weeks early. Imagine if he would have cooked for four more weeks in my tummy - YIKES!

We ventured to Vinton today to watch the Chipmunk movie...well after 17 minutes they were sold out. So with tears in Eli's eyes I quickly diverted him to going sledding. We had a choice of three hills: watertower, Braille school or the golf course. We started at the Braille school and we had a great time on a cute little three hill short stretch. After about 45 minutes Eli wanted the see the golf course hill. We drove around and then decided we would check out the old ice skating rink. Who knew...it was now a sledding hill. So we headed out and ventured up the hill. It had tires and a rope to help get you up the hill. At the top Eli went down first and he loved it. He said you do get snow in your face but it is awesome. Trip number 3 he convinces me to go down with him. He was the pilot and was the back seat driver. The first 1/3 of the hill was fine...the second 1/3 of the hill we were going backwards. I told Eli repeatedly, "Eli this was a bad idea". The final third I felt cold snow down the back of my jeans and a huge whack to the back of my head. Needless to say that was the end of our sledding. My jeans were soaked, my underpants were full of snow and my head was throbbing. Eli, I said, that was a bad idea. Eli's response was, "that was so cool".

Two motrin later and I am able to move. We will see how the morning treats me. Matt's going sledding next time.

Under the weather

The past two weeks we've all been under the weather. It started with Wyatt catching a cold just like everyone else in his infant room. Then it gradually hit Eli and I. The final straw was Matt coming down with the same nasty viral cold. I attempted to purchase some Advil Cold and Sinus (my personal miracle drug) at Target yesterday for Matt. I was denied! My drivers license was expired and they would not sell me the drug! So much for being a good wife. :(

Wyatt's Godmother, Melissa sure does know how to pick 'em. We finally opened her Christmas gift. Honestly I wanted the boys to enjoy it instead of playing with it for ten minutes and then moving to the next gift. Now that the Christmas buzz had worn off from all the other toys they got they REALLY enjoyed the fire truck this afternoon. It was hillarious Wyatt's fine baby hair got static in it and stood up like Einstein. I tried to get pictures of it but it is hard to see. I do have to say that if you want to purchase this item make sure you have a air pump around I just about passed out trying to blow that thing up. Whew!

Ah, Num Nums and Pip Squeek have joined the family. Last weekend when we went to Mason City to see the girls shoot their bows E and W got their Christmas gifts from Aunt Jenn and crew. Needless to say they were a hit. In fact E had to take his for show and tell on Tuesday. What E doesn't know is that I had to take them for show and tell on Monday at work. Everyone wanted to see what the hype was about. Thanks Aunt Jenn the boys love them.

We celebrated by sleeping - pretty wild and crazy huh? I did see 12:30 am with Wyatt and his wet diaper. I would love any suggestions to get this kiddo to sleep all night long. He just does not like a wet diaper but loves to eat his bottle before bed.

Eli and Wyatt spent the day with Mammie yesterday and they learned that Wyatt loves to get pushed around on his toys. He just holds on for DEAR life and away they go. We've only have a few falls from the driver seat.

Illness, deer season and ADM

The Ebel household has been hit by the stomach flu. Wyatt's adventures started on Tuesday with a bump to the head, throwing up and being lethargic. I took him to the ER with the help of Aunt Mickey to get a head CT to see if he had a concussion. Turns out he has teh perfect little brain. Phew! We later found out the rest of his class was throwing up too.

Thursday at school he threw up again at school after being 100% fine on Wednesday. So I left work to get him. Thursday night it was my turn. I thought I was on my death bed - I'll spare you the details. I've been waiting for Eli to come down with it hopefully he stays away from the nasty bug.

Matt has deer season this weekend. His group got 9; Matt got 0; broken cell phones = 1. He said last night, "If it's brown it's down" in reference to the size of a deer. One trip up a hill seemed to be too much as he fell down right on his cell phone and busted it to pieces. On another note he also has been doing 10 hour days at ADM dry grind plant. There is talk of 7 12 hour days. That is not going to be fun for the kids or me but the pay checks will be nice I guess. Although my sanity may cost more than the check.

Today we might try to go see Santa Claus at the Mall. We'll see how freaked out Eli gets.

Can you tell I have not purchased a camera yet? I can't decide what I want to get.

Tonight was our 4th week of basketball practice with the Parks and Rec Dept. They worked on defensive stance, dribbling and then some fun and games with red light green light. To top it off Eli and I played a little game together. Despite some major traveling Eli did really well shooting hoops. He does like to shoot. Dribbling....well still needs some work. We've got a week off next week then it back to practice. Maybe by then I'll have a camera. :)

Sorry for the lack of entries lately. It seems like someone is always sick in our household lately. It started out with me (of course) with sinus infection. Then Wyatt had ringworm, thrush and then a nasty virus that made him vomit and have diarrhea for about 5 days. In fact, I even had to collect a stool sample that sure was fun - NOT! I think Wyatt is trying to grow his upper two teeth -he's a bit crabby tonight.

Oh, some more bad news....I dropped by camera and now it just takes black pictures. I called and they quoted me at $130 to fix it. Needless to say we will not be fixing it so we are in the market for a new camera.

Tomorrow is a day off for both Matt and I. It will be filled with Eli's dentist appointment and a H1N1 shot for Wyatt. Wish us luck.

Hopefully my next post is a picture with our new camera....maybe I should buy a lottery ticket so I can afford the camera I REALLY want.

9th & 20th Anniversary

Wednesday, Matt and I celebrated our 9th wedding anniversary. It seems like just yesterday we were up in front of friends and family sharing our vows (and tears). We've had some great memories since that wonderful day such as:

Vacations in Hawaii, Colorado, Wisconsin, Minnesota and Nebraska
Birth of Eli
Birth of Wyatt
Building own own home
and many more to come

During dinner Wednesday evening we talked about what we should do next year for our anniversary. I suggested Cancun or maybe Hawaii again. Matt just laughed. That's when I said, "Maybe we should make it 10 years then plan - just in case we don't make it - HA!"

Oh - another funny is that Wednesday was also the 20th anniversary of our first kiss. HA! I am so OLD! According to my middle school diary our first kiss was October 14, 1989. We didn't realize our wedding date and first kiss day were the same until after the date was set. It was very fun to find this out.

Well, better go and try to get my hubby out of the chair - yep he's fallen asleep again. :) Gotta love ya! Happy Anniversary Matt. Thanks for the beautiful flowers.

Famous?

This weekend was packed full of good friends and family. On Friday, my high school girls basketball team was inducted into the Vinton-Shellsburg Athletic Hall of Fame. So basically that makes me famous in the eyes of my five year old. The weather was less than desirable about 40 degrees, light rain and did I mention cold? We were supposed to ride in the homecoming parade but due to the rain they canceled the parade. We received our honor at the 1/2 time of the varsity football game. I would post some other pictures but the weather and darkness did a number on my camera. Eli wants to hang my trophy in his room we'll see how long this "Fame" of mine lasts. Maybe 15 more minutes. Ha!

Misc. Tidbits:
Matt:
Well Monday Matt's employer closed their doors thus laying him off. It was pretty stressful for him as he had only worked for A'Hearn (15 years worth). The business was purchased by another firm out of Des Moines although it sounds like Matt got the good part of the deal. Finally on Thursday we got a call from the Local 125 to say that Modern Piping wanted to hire Matt to work for them. He starts on Monday. I knew all those union dues would pay off for us. Cross your fingers and say some prayers that his first few days go well for him.

Wyatt:
W has cut a tooth - finally. It's barely up...but it is up.

Carrie:
Well, I got my annual flu shot on Tuesday. Today I felt like I had the flu of all things. I had to try to stay away from the family - pray that they don't get sick. Note to self - - no more flu shots.

Eli:
E had football buddies class today. Some of you heard the first weekend did not go as planned. I took him with W and he never even went on the field. Today he was the head of the class, or at least that is what Matt said. It's amazing what Matt can get him to do. Even Wyatt got to go. Mollie and I stayed home napping in bed....together. Yes, that's right I let Mollie sleep in our bed! I'm turning into a softy.

Prairie had their homecoming this weekend. The boys took part in spirit day and wore their Prairie Hawk shirts on Friday. They even saw each other at the parade in front of their school. Matt took Eli to his first football game. Eli's favorite part was when they ran through the banner. In the 3rd quarter Eli feel asleep and Matt had to carry his all the way back to the truck - too cute. The second Hawk win this weekend was the Iowa Hawks. 3 wins so far and 0 losses. That makes for a happy Matt.

The morning started off with birthday wishes from KHAK, a local radio station. They said his first name, his last name from his home town...(insert long pause)...that should be illegal. It was too funny. Unfortunately E was sleeping away at Mammie and Papa's house as he has spent the last 3 nights there with cousin Katie on Monday. E also did not have any daycare M-W so Mammie and Papa stepped in for us. Tonight we opened presents and went out to Carlos O Kelly's for supper. They sang happy birthday to him and he just sank into his chair. He kept saying, "I can't handle it". It was too funny! Tonight we played a board game we got him for his b-day and then he crashed. He had a busy day and tomorrow will be even busier...he has his first day of AK (Alternative Kindergarten). He is really excited and a little nervous about the change in his routine. I am sure tomorrow one of us will be teary eyed when I drop him off. I'll post more pictures later.

What a difference a year makes. Eli is a swimming machine. Well...maybe not a machine but he is doing excellent in his lessons. First off he actually is getting into the water without Mom and Dad bribing him or pushing him towards the pool. He is the first one to volunteer to do things with his teacher. And to top it off he is putting his head under water! Yahoo! Look out Michael Phelps.

I got Wyatt's baptism outfit today it is so CUTE! I still need to send invites but we are planning on a weekend of Eli's family b-day party (2 pm to 4 pm Saturday), Wyatt's baptism (6 pm Saturday night @ Trinity Lutheran) and Eli's friend party at the Playstation (Sunday at 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm). Whew - what am I thinking doing that all in one weekend.

Well, gotta run and try to get Eli to bed. I am still hoping for a good nights sleep between E and W last night I think I was up five times.

Cousin Kenzie

Kenzie wanted to spend the night Friday night so we opted to bowl some balls. A great time was had by all.

Even Wyatt got in on the bowling action. Unfortunately Wyatt and I had to run to the store b/c I forgot to bring a bottle. We only missed 3 frames of bowling not too bad.

Saturday morning we headed to the Beef Days Parade. Eli has the parade thing down. Wave and say hello and they will throw candy...lots of candy. Needless to say we had two bags full and a bucket full of candy. Thanks Beef days! It was great to Kenzie spend the night the only bad part was that Eli woke up at 4 am hungry...so we ate two waffles and went back to bed. What a goof!

Wyatt has a new trick. I tried getting photos of it but he is a little photo shy. Can you guess what it is? Nope, try again. Nope not that either. Yep you guessed he discovered his feet today and he is sucking his big toe. It is pretty hard for him to get his foot into his mouth over his big tummy but he manages to accomplish it time after time again. Who knows what his next trick will be???

Yes, I am known for always having my camera. Every good blogger is always ready to take a great picture to post. But to my dismay...my camera was fairly dead at the zoo today. I did manage to get a few shots of Eli. Yesterday, we had a great visit with the Nebraska crew in Seward. Today was zoo fun and tonight is the pool. Tomorrow we head back towards Iowa in an effort to make a few enjoyable steps and stretch our legs. I do have to tell a short story about a crabby Gorilla. This guy liked to make people jump. He would pound on his chest and jump at the glass. Eli and I were looking at him in a 1/2 circle glass area and then he pounded on the glass. I jumped, yelled and ran the HE*L out of there. I almost wet my pants! It was great and memorable.

Matt and Mollie are hitting it off great. In fact tonight Matt was out grilling some steak drinking his usual beer and sitting on his lap is Mollie. She even got a sip of beer.

She is very well behaved minus the items she attempts to chew on. She is so gentle with the boys and loves sitting out in the backyard. Although she does prefer to sit on the patio furniture versus the ground. So far so good.

We took Wyatt to the doctor today b/c we thought he had an ear infection. Needless to say Dr. Gray thought we were crazy he was fine. The bad thing is that we go back on Monday for our 4 month check up and shots. Then it is off on our mini vacation.

I must have bumped my head in the night when I mentioned to Matt that a friend of mine had a dog they wanted to give away. She is a female Brittany Spaniel. She will be 1 in August. Sherrie watched Wyatt for me while Matt was off enjoying Father's Day weekend fishing with the Nebraska clan. Eli and I went on a date. We attempted to go to the Freedom Festival but it was rained out. That also meant swimming was rained out. We opted to head to the Iowa Children's Museum in Coralville. I highly encourage you to take your children there if you have not. We spent 3 hours there playing with all sorts of fun play rooms. We ended the night with a trip around the carousel.

Eli started t-ball. I am so proud of him b/c he is working his way out of being so shy. He ran right out on the field. He loves his coaches and is constantly talking to them. We have batted both left handed and right handed and frequently run after every ball hit. The week of July 6th we start playing games.

Eli's Track Day

The ECC had track day on Wednesday last week. Eli was the only little tike that had sunglasses on with his tie dye shirt they made in school. Mammie and Aunt Mickey surprised him by showing up the in the stands. They took a few photos to share with everyone. My favorite was the voicemail that Sherrie left me. Apparently some little girl was constantly hugging Eli during the meet. I asked him who it was and he said it was one of his girlfriends. He has 4 that I know of so far....Kristen, Camryn, Maddie and Caralee. He's going to be a heartbreaker.

Eli's preschool class had graduation tonight. Sure does make me tear up just thinking about my baby growing up so quickly. It was the cutest thing they wore homemade hats, sang songs and received their diplomas. The class plays so well together with the "normal" kids and the special needs kids. They range from wheel chair bound kids to downs syndrome to wild and crazy kids like Eli. It is really special to see. Here are a few pictures I'd like to share of our big boy Eli.

Tonight we are getting Wyatt's 3 month pictures taken. Cross your fingers that at 6 pm tonight he will be awake and happy. Eli also is going to join him in some pictures. Speaking of Eli we have signed him up to play t-ball this year. So yesterday we ventured off to find a batting tee to practice with and some cleats. I am happy to say that we found both and he looks so stinkin' cute in his shoes. He was hitting off the tee last night and doing pretty good. By the end of the summer he will be an all-star like his Daddy was. I'm sure I'll have lots of pictures to post after June 15th our 1st practice/game.

Baptism update: I am shooting for August 22nd at 6 pm. I still need to check with church and Troy.

Frog, Toad and a School Bus

It may look like an innocent school bus...

Sunday we went to visit Grandpa and Grandma Millard at their camper. While eating dinner we discovered a frog in the tent (a leopard frog to those who know the difference). Eli caught the frog and was playing with him. Gave it grass and some water. While at the playground he discovered another green creature, this time it was a toad. So the two green creatures were contained in the same basket while Eli played with them. Then came the school bus. I looked over to Eli and I saw him putting the toad into the toy school bus and now he was STUCK in the bus. We had to use the "jaws of life" to extract the toad from the bus. The toad lived to tell the story the leopard frog....well did not.

Cousins Kenzie and Katie visited us Friday night. In fact, they spent the night with us. It was so much fun. We had a great time eating popcorn (and waffles), dancing and playing Wii. The highlight for the girls was getting to feed and burp Wyatt. They did stay up a little late last night but are still sleeping...unlike the little guy. 3 Months Old!!!

It's hard to believe that Wyatt turned 12 weeks on Monday. He is growing so fast...as you can see by the 15 lbs in the picture. He is doing so good at his sitters house during the day. Lani's kids are so excited to have Wyatt with them this Summer. In August, Wyatt will get to go to Eli's school and be in the infant room there. It will be so nice to have one drop off spot. Milestones: Wyatt is SO close to rolling over. If it wasn't for his right arm he would be rolling over to his tummy. He does manage to rotate around in his crib during the night. He usually makes it 180 degrees by the end of the night. We hope to get Wyatt's baptism rescheduled soon (hint hint if you have not told me your weekend plans for the next couple of months). I will have to find a different baptism outfit b/c he has outgrown the one that Eli wore. Have a great weekend!

Eli thought that Wyatt needed to wear his sunglasses so of course we had to take a picture of how cute he looked. I think he enjoyed wearing them - hence the smile.

Mother's Day...and fishing???

Our Mother's Day weekend plans were altered because of the death of my Uncle Dean that lived in Colorado. He had an aortic aneurysm at the young age of 55. It was such a shock that we all are trying to cope with.

So...we headed to PDC to Mammie and Papa's camper to get away from the house for awhile. Saturday was VERY cold so we spent most of our time inside but Sunday the boys went fishing. It was a great time had by all. See pictures below. Eli reeled in all the fish once they were on the hooks. They were out for probably 4-5 hours about 4.5 hours longer than I thought they would be. E did have to ride in the rod locker while going fast b/c it was so cool out on the water. I think we have some future Ebel fishing boys even Wyatt looked at the fish when they returned.

P.S. Matt said I could go shopping on Father's Day since he got to go fishing on Mother's Day.
